Political Party Constitution The Constitutional Synopsis of the Cosmopolitan Party of Canada This Constitution shall reflect the spirit of the consensual decision-making focus and corresponding democratic idealism, inspired in part, by the Canadian Iroquois Constitution associated with the 'Great Law of Peace', which pre-dated the Confederation of Canada in 1867. Members of the diverse Canadian public hereby create Cosmopolitan as an organized corporate body that rests on the free and equal participation of a diversity of persons as a means of contributing to the creation of a political process which encourages the development of the ability of these persons to control their lives toward the pursuit of the quality-of-survival of all Canadians. Declaration: Cosmopolitan shall embrace human rights; social justice; cultural diversity; universality; and environmental protection. Cosmopolitan seeks to bring Canada as a national community together in a spirit of mutuality. We seek to enfranchise the peoples of Canada. We seek to safeguard the corresponding vital social, economic, and political sovereignty of Canada. Axioms: (i) Power in a democracy society must ultimately rest with the diverse human agents which form the body politic of the community; (ii) Society exists to serve the peoples who constitute it, and not the other way around; (iii) Government is the institution that human agents delegate to serve the diverse publics; Terms: (i) Cosmopolitan Party of Canada may be herein referred to as just 'Cosmopolitan' . (ii) Cosmopolite refers to a person who considers themselves to be 'Cosmopolitan'. General 'Modus Operandi': Section 1. The decision-making of the Cosmopolitan Party of Canada - Parti Cosmopolite du Canada, shall herein be vested in the whole 'Agora', which shall consist of the Coordinating Body and the general membership collectively. Section 2. 'Cosmopolitan' Riding Associations, and University Associations, shall help provide the governance context for the operation of the whole 'Agora'. Section 3. "The Agora" as a 'marketplace of ideas' expressed by diverse people in a responsible democracy, is envisioned to facilitate an environment of participation, mutuality, and collegiality. Cosmopolitan recognizes that a critical measure of a quality of a democracy is its ability to successfully reflect the greatest possible socio-cultural diversities of a community. Section 4. The democratic processes of the Cosmopolitan Party of Canada - Parti Cosmopolite du Canada, are linked to the general democratic values of Cosmopolitan. Cosmopolites recognize that democracy refers to more than just the ability of individual to elect representatives. Cosmopolites recognize that democracy refers to the ability of sovereign human agents to participate in the political process with co-citizens, in ways that positively effect the ability of them to control their own lives. Section 5. Raymond Samuels as Executive Legal Agent and Moderator of the Cosmopolitan Party of Canada, shall be delegated to have veto power to ensure that the Cosmopolitan Party of Canada - Parti Cosmopolite du Canada, supports organizational development associated with human rights; social justice; cultural diversity; and environmental protection. Section 6. The Cosmopolitan Party is envisioned principally as voluntary association of sovereign human agents. Section 7. The Coordinating Body shall be vested with assuring that the membership is as informed as possible about decision-making associated with their participation as members of 'Cosmopolitan'. The Coordinating Body is collectively responsible for assuring that Elections, and all events organized by Cosmopolitan are conducted with the knowledge and consensuality of the membership. Section 8. The Cosmopolitan Party of Canada - Parti Cosmopolite du Canada, legally affirms that Raymond Samuèls II is the owner of the Cosmopolitan Party of Canada name and trademark rights. Section 9. Candidates for a federal elections shall be nominated by a consensual democratic process that is inspired by the 'Great Law of Peace' associated with Canada's first Constitution. Section 10. This internet published Constitutional document is a summary of the Constitution of the Cosmopolitan Party of Canada - Parti Cosmopolite du Canada, which may be amended subject to the general consensus of the Agora and/or Raymond Samuèls who is the Executive Legal Agent and Moderator of Cosmopolitan. . |
